DARLINGTON BUSINESS LEADERS INVITED TO ECONOMIC BRIEFING WITH MAYOR BEN HOUCHEN AT AGE UK DARLINGTON & NORTH YORKSHIRE

14/02/2023

Darlington Economic Briefing with Teesside Mayor BEN HOUCHEN at the Launch of AGE UK NORTH YORKSHIRE AND DARLINGTON’S ‘Karma Cafe’ - Monday 6th March, 5.30pm for 6.00pm - 7.30pm, AGE UK, Beaumont Street West, Darlington. DL1 5SX.

Age UK North Yorkshire and Darlington is inviting business leaders in Darlington and surrounding areas to attend a FREE event to launch their 'Karma Cafe' with an executive briefing on the Darlington economy and a discussion on the theme of corporate social responsibility (CSR) and economic regeneration.

Teesside Mayor Ben Houchen is the showcase speaker and he will discuss his exciting plans for economic renewal in Darlington and surrounding areas. Darlington Council Leader Jonathan Dulston will also unveil new projects and developments in Darlington.

Age UK CEO Helen Hunter (pictured) will talk about the importance of CSR and what businesses can do to help charities such as Age UK.

Helen said: "The event is an exciting date in the diary for Darlington and surrounding area businesses to find out about economic developments in the pipeline, and we're delighted to welcome Teesside Mayor Ben Houchen as well as Darlington Council Leader Jonathan Dulston.

"We'll also be sharing how CSR can have huge benefits to businesses as well as the charities they help. A company that implements CSR initiatives can improve its reputation among customers, employees, and stakeholders. This can lead to increased brand loyalty, positive word of mouth, and higher levels of trust in the company. It's a win- win situation."

Save the date as the exciting new central Darlington located ‘Karma Cafe’ will open its doors to businesses to use for networking events - mornings and afternoons.

The cafe has a talented catering team with a vast array of savoury and sweet options (afternoon tea option pictured below) - and the cafe will showcase some of these on 6th March.

Places at this event are limited so please RSVP ASAP to reserve your place to lily.harrison@ageuknyd.org.uk.
