Comment on North East economic review
NEWS RELEASE: ISSUED ON BEHALF OF MIDDLETON ENTERPRISES
Business Angel Jeremy Middleton, who is a board member of the North Eastern Local Enterprise Partnership, said: “The economic review is a huge opportunity for the region and I would urge business leaders from all sectors to embrace it.
“The review has the authority to identify how we shift from an economy dependent on the public sector to one driven and dominated by the private sector.
“The North East needs big ideas to enhance its economic well-being and we must use this review as a platform to secure support to turn its recommendations into reality.”
Mr Middleton, of Middleton Enterprises, added: “On the back of the automotive cluster allied to Nissan in Sunderland, the development of the wind turbines and offshore oil and gas sector on Tyneside and the arrival of train manufacturing with Hitachi at Aycliffe, the review has the potential to pinpoint how we can establish the region as a manufacturing hub for Britain.”
