HARTLEPOOL RESIDENTS TO CELEBRATE EUROPEAN NEIGHBOURS’ DAY
Housing Hartlepool is holding a big community fun day featuring activities to appeal to all the family.
The Neighbours’ Day takes place in the Kilmarnock Road area with activities centring on the community centre, a marquee and nearby Grange School.
The fun begins at 10am on Friday May 28 and will conclude at 6pm with a barbeque.
Activities will include
• A masterchef competition where cooks will be set the challenge of coming up with a delicious dish from a set list of ingredients,
• A coffee morning
• Cheer leading
• Bingo
• Street dancers
• A Wii fitness contest
• A May pole
Pupils from Grange Primary School are contributing to the day, which is being held as part of European Neighbours’ Day, by designing flags and masks and creating a skittles game by recycling plastic bottles.
Mick Thompson, Housing Hartlepool Resident Participation Manager, said: “This is set to be a real community event with Manor Residents Association and local school children making a substantial contribution to its organisation.
“By attracting people of all ages through a range of activities, we hope to celebrate the benefits of being a good neighbour within the local community.”
