HELICOPTER WISH COMES TRUE FOR TEESSIDE TODDLERS

29/08/2023

Children from Rosedene Nurseries recently paid a visit to the Great North Air Ambulance Service to learn more about the important work they do in our community.

The nursery group, which has 10 settings dotted across the North East, brought some of their preschoolers and holiday club children along after being invited as a thank you for raising £250 for the charity.

During the week, the nursery children took to their wardrobes and kitted themselves in green for the day, to raise the money for the organisation. With many of the staff joining in on the fun too!

During the afternoon, the nursery children were given a tour of the facilities, which included a visit by the popular bear mascot, Miles, and ending with a close-up view of a helicopter taking off.

Caris Williams, from Rosedene Nurseries said: “Our children have thoroughly enjoyed taking part in our Community week across the nurseries, with a focus on the Great North Air Ambulance Service.

“In the build up to the visit, all of our nurseries have been participating in a wide range of activities and the children are very proud of the money they have raised as a result.”

Sophie Snowden, fundraising lead at the Great North Air Ambulance Service said: “It was great to welcome the children from Rosedene for a tour of our facilities and have them learn about what we get up to.

“We’re all about educating the future fundraisers and people of our region – so it’s nice to show the children what the money raised will be spent on.

“At a time when household bills are on the rise, we are extremely grateful to all donations which are made and appreciate the close connections we have with many local groups and businesses in the area which support us to continue our life-saving work.”
