The new café at Stockton’s Wilkinson’s Landscapes has received a glowing review from inspectors as they handed it a 5-star hygiene rating.

Situated within the nursery site on Urlay Nook Road, close to Teesside Airport, the café has received the maximum score after an assessment by officers from the local authority.

The café, which opened a few weeks ago to enhance the overall visitor experience at Wilkinson's Landscapes, has quickly become a popular destination for garden enthusiasts and locals alike.

Surrounded by a huge array of plants and flowers, with a menu comprised of locally sourced ingredients, the café’s achievement is a testament to Wilkinson’s commitment to maintaining the highest standards – whether it’s transforming a garden or serving up a brownie.

Simon Wilkinson, managing director of Wilkinson’s Landscapes, said: "We are thrilled to receive a 5-star food hygiene rating for our café and very proud of the team. This is my first venture into hospitality, and there has been a lot to learn, but thanks to the café’s manager, Milli, we’re off to a flying start.

“The reception from customers has been brilliant. The breakfasts have been particularly popular. I think having somewhere where people can have a little break after browsing our plants and flowers really makes a difference.”

Milli Greener, café manager said: “I’m over the moon to have received five stars! It’s always nerve wracking during an inspection even when you know you have done everything right, because your reputation relies on having a good rating. Thankfully all our hard work has paid off!”
