WILKINSONS GARDEN CENTRE TO CREATE NEW JOBS WITH CAFÉ INVESTMENT

27/03/2023

Wilkinsons Landscapes is investing in a new 40-seater café, which will serve keen gardeners and passers-by when it opens its doors in just a few weeks’ time.

Work is underway at Wilkinsons Landscapes nursery, between Eaglescliffe and Teesside Airport, to get the new café ready in time for the beginning of the peak season in May.

A manager has been appointed, and a further four jobs are available for local people.

When it opens, Wilkinsons Café will serve hot and soft drinks, breakfast buns, cakes and cookies which can be enjoyed either in its 40-seat dining area, while overlooking its sprawling nursery site or taken away.

The café is the idea of Simon Wilkinson, the second generation of his family to run the business which was founded by his father and uncle. He has spent evenings and weekends preparing the new café for its first customers in a few weeks’ time.

Simon Wilkinson, managing director of Wilkinsons Landscapes, said: “I am really excited to get the café up and running. It’s been a long time in the making, but it’s going to be a brilliant asset to the nursey and our customers.

“I’ve been learning how to use the coffee machine and writing menus. It’s a totally different world for me, but one I am keen learn more about.

“I can’t wait until it’s summer and the garden centre is full of people enjoying the sun with an ice cream from our café.”

Wilkinsons Café is recruiting for four café assistants. To apply, please send a CV to Simon@WilkinsonsLandscapes.co.uk
