Arqiva continues its outreach to ‘not spot’ households

25/11/2021

Staff from Arqiva, the company which operates Bilsdale Mast, provided advice to local people on how to restore their TV services at Northallerton market today.

The team handed out information leaflets with advice on how to retune TVs, and were supported by Councillor Caroline Dickinson, and Simon Cale from Age UK in Hambleton.

Some TV services have been restored to more than 97% of households affected by the Bilsdale fire, and today’s event was focused on helping those who still don’t have any services.

The message, part of the company’s Project Restore campaign, is aimed at family, friends, and neighbours of older and vulnerable people without TV services and encourages them to call the freephone number available to get help on 0800 121 4828.

Advice on retuning your TV set is available at bilsdalemast.co.uk.

Shuja Khan, Chief Commercial Officer of Arqiva, said: “While we are making real progress in restoring services to people there is still more to do, and we are determined to help. That’s why we are out talking to people at local markets and via local media. We ask that people can help spread the word about the support available through the freephone line, 0800 121 4828.”

Councillor Dickinson said: “I think it’s great that Arqiva is here to give people information because around Northallerton and the surrounding villages there are still a lot of people that just aren’t getting any reception and sometimes people don’t know where to go for information.”

Simon Cale, Age UK said:“Age Uk and Project Restore have come together to support older people. Older people rely on television and radio in their houses and having the mast go down is a big change for them, and a lot won’t know how to get their TV and radios going again.”
