Reach & Respond, Beyond Housing’s independent living service, which supports more than 8,500 people across Teesside and Yorkshire, has been recognised for its commitment to customers with a prestigious industry accreditation.

The Telecare Services Association (TSA) Quality Standards Framework (QSF) sets out 196 requirements which cover all aspects of the service, including customer experience, workforce development, partnership working, user safety and information governance.

Beyond Housing was found to be compliant in all areas when it was audited against the QSF.

Reach & Respond offers a lifeline to people, who might otherwise require in-person care or support, to live happily, healthily and independently in their own homes. The technology-enabled system provides reassurance that help is available 24 hours a day, through a personal alarm system set up throughout the home. It also offers the option of a range of telecare sensors, which can automatically detect an emergency, such as a fall, and alert a Responder.

Services are subject to a full audit every three years, with review audits in place annually, with this year being the first for Reach & Respond since it was established in 2021 as an amalgamation of three separate services.

Jason Lowe, Head of Independent & Supported Living at Beyond Housing said: “We’re very proud that Reach & Respond has achieved such a national accreditation only a few months after launching as an amalgamated and integrated service.

“Achieving certification involved a detailed audit of all aspects of the service and this certification reflects the dedication and commitment of the team to provide personalised support services to all our customers.

“Reach & Respond is an invaluable lifeline to thousands of customers that enables those who might otherwise struggle to live independently to enjoy a normal lifestyle, complete with everyday freedoms. I am delighted that this valuable service has been recognised externally which demonstrates our commitment to quality, continuous improvement and customer service.”
