100 year old Buster at the head of Pimlico’s float for the Lord Mayors Show

Buster Martin, who is believed to be Britain’s oldest employee, will be heading up the Pimlico Plumbers procession at the Lord Mayor’s Show on Saturday 11 November – and walking the entire route.

Buster will be at the forefront of Pimlico’s float (number 77) along the route of the Lord Mayor’s Show, which is approximately three miles.

Pimlico Plumbers will have an array of old and new vehicles in the procession. Leading the way will be the 1958 Fordson van and 1959 Morris Minor, followed by two contemporary VW transporters, equipped with state-of-the-art tool kits.

Joining Buster in the parade are 15 other personnel from Pimlico Plumbers, including three female plumbers and two 16-year-old apprentices.

Buster said: “I am honoured to be taking part in the Lord Mayor’s Show and I am looking forward to walking the whole route of the procession.”

Charlie Mullins, Managing Director of Pimlico Plumbers, said: “This is the first time Pimlico Plumbers have participated in the Lord Mayor’s Show and it will be a fantastic atmosphere to be among all the other participants.

“In taking part in the show we will help to support our official charity, Help a London Child. It is an honour and privilege to be involved in this fantastic procession.”

Pimlico Plumbers, a family-run business, was established in 1979, providing plumbing and heating services in central London. The company employs 150 people, has a fleet of 110 vehicles and carries out in excess of 60,000 jobs a year.
