Beyond Digital Systems, the digital signage company based in Jarrow has reported record growth for the company with the help of a leading angel investor.

Middleton Enterprises, which represents the investment interests of Jeremy Middleton, supported Beyond Digital last year with the investment of £100,000 into the company but following its success in 2010, Middleton Enterprises has injected £360,000 of new funding into Beyond Digital.

With the UK market for digital signage experiencing fast growth turnover for the company has now trebled from £1million in 2010 to £3million in 2011.

Louise Richley, Managing Director of Beyond Digital Systems has set the company to be on course for a profit of half a million pounds for 2011.

Beyond Digital Systems provides digital signage to sectors such as automotive, retail environments, estate agency, train stations and corporate buildings. The electronic displays can show targeted information, advertising or messages to the public or employees.

The signs, which can range from a single site option to a complex multi-site, multi-channel network, provide the flexibility to keep information up to date and enable the targeting of customers according to location, time of day, week or season.

For instance a food outlet’s menu list can be automatically changed when an extra item is added or one becomes unavailable in a particular outlet or to feature a special meal deal during the lunch period.

Beyond Digital now employ a total of 12 staff and offers end to end consultancy from content design, project management, maintenance, media distribution, network management, product design and implementation.

The company is now strong in the automotive sector working with Volvo, LandRover and Jaguar to provide digital interactive screens to dealerships across the UK.

Having trebled the turnover already shows how the company has survived the recession which hit many companies hard.

“Making a profit in the digital signage market is rare but it is a rapidly growing area of business and our hard work proves it is possible to make it happen. We will push ahead with our plans for the future to move into new sectors such as corporate and leisure on the back of current growth.”
