GROWING NORTHUMBERLAND OFFSITE CONSTRUCTION FIRM RECEIVES PRESTIGIOUS NATIONAL AWARD
Leading industrialised construction and manufacturing specialist Merit has won Specialist Contractor of the Year at the 2023 Construction News Awards.
Over the last 12 months, the Cramlington based firm has taken onboard several projects across the UK, adding clients like the international pharmaceutical and biotechnology company Moderna, to its portfolio.
As Specialist Contractor of the Year, Merit received a significant amount of praise for its commitment on carbon and waste reduction, as well as proven results in time and cost savings across projects such as the UK’s first CAR-T cell manufacturing facility for Autolus Therapeutics and Cell & Gene Therapy Catapult advanced manufacturing facility.
Taking place in central London, the annual awards ceremony, which is held by the leading publication in the construction industry, recognises large and small teams, and projects from across the UK, which this year included more than 400 entries with just 23 awards to be won.
Merit’s product-based solutions: FLEXI POD® and UltraPOD® deliver buildings in the healthcare, pharmaceutical and bioscience sectors with 75%-95% pre-manufactured value, in half the time compared to traditional methods of construction.
