Pacifica Group chief executive Kevin Brown is swapping the comfort of a boardroom chair for a pitch side sleeping bag in aid of charity by taking part in a CEO Sleepout.

Taking place on 24 March, the event will see business leaders from across the North East spending the night at Newcastle United’s St James Park to raise money for the charity and awareness of homelessness in the UK.

Founded in 2013, the CEO Sleepout is a nationwide initiative in which business leaders are encouraged to sleep out at various locations such as football stadiums to help combat homelessness and poverty.

He’ll be joining more than 75 other North East business leaders, owners and executives and bracing the chilly touchlines of the premier league stadium for one night of sleeping out.

Speaking about the sleepout Kevin Brown said “Although not always visible, homelessness is still an issue across the North East and in 2020 the number of homeless people in Newcastle losing their life increased by a third.

“The sleep out is going to be challenging, but all money raised is going to a great cause to help combat homelessness across the UK. Every penny will support charities such as Changing Lives and the Newcastle United Foundation, which work tirelessly to tackle homelessness, support vulnerable and disadvantaged youth and provide accommodation and outreach.”
