Morley Road care home in Tiptree was celebrating after receiving second prize in a photo and video competition.

The residential care home for disabled adults with complex care needs scooped the silver prize with a photo of three of the ladies supported by the service enjoying themselves on Clacton Pier. The photograph was taken by team member Emma Mann.

The competition brief was to show what HumanKind, the premise at the very heart of Salutem Care and Education, meant to staff and the individuals they support through a photo or video.

The winners received a Fujifilm Instax Polaroid camera, and the top three entries were also presented with a printed canvas of their winning photo to display at their location, as well hanging at the Salutem head office in Windsor.

Jane Hare, service manager at Morley Road, said: “I’m so happy that Emma’s picture received second place in the photography competition. The ladies had a marvellous time at the pier, and that joy was caught on camera.

“At Morley Road, we want the people we support to have fun and live their best lives, so the trips out, special events and activities help us to get everyone in good spirits.

“I’m delighted that Emma’s picture of our lovely ladies spoke to the judges and represents HumanKind across the whole of Salutem.”

John Godden MBE, CEO of Salutem Care and Education, said: “I’d like to congratulate everyone who took part in the Salutem photo and video competition.

“We saw so many examples of HumanKind and what it means to our team. It’s fantastic to see so many people living the Salutem values.

“A special congratulations to Jane, photographer Emma, and the team at Morley Road for taking second prize too. The picture of the ladies having a great time on their trip really captured a lovely moment. Very well done.”

Morley Road is part of Ambito Care and Education, which is part of Salutem Care and Education.
