FOUR BEAUMONT COLLEGE STUDENTS SCOOP NATIONAL ART AWARDS

Four students from Beaumont College, Lancaster, which supports individuals with complex physical needs, celebrated as they took home gold and silver awards at this year’s Unique Art Awards.

The students, their families and support travelled to Kensington,London to celebrate at the Copthorne Tara Hotel for the annual event, where the four were selected as finalists from more than two hundred entrants.

All four students came away winners from the event, with Jordan Beach and Liam Worsley picking up Gold and Silver for their photography entries whilst Greer Hatchwell and Bradley Shuttleworth picked up Gold and Silver for their entries into the 2D art category.

Greer picked up an additional “overall silver award” for her entry.

The Unique Art Awards is an Art Competition for disabled children between the ages of 7 - 21 years old and is funded by the Mouth and Foot Painting Trust Fund. Prizes include up to £600 for entrants and £3,000 for their school/college Art Department.

Acting principal of Beaumont College, Chris Lowcock, said: “At Beaumont College, we encourage our students to be creative, and it’s fantastic that four of them have been recognised in these national Unique Art Awards.”

“We are incredibly proud of our students and the work they produce. It’s been an absolute pleasure to be able to celebrate their achievements in such a special way.

Bradley Shuttleworth said: “It was a great night, very inspirational and I feel proud to have been chosen as a finalist and even better to have won the silver award.”

Beaumont College, is part of Ambito Care and Education, which is part of Salutem Care and Education.
