MAKE A POSITIVE DIFFERENCE WITH SALUTEM CARE AND EDUCATION

08/07/2021

If making a positive difference to people’s lives every day you’re at work sounds like your dream role, then Salutem Care and Education could have the job for you in Colchester or Harwich.

An open day is being held in Colchester on July 13 for day youth support workers, a team leader and night youth support workers, aimed at attracting those who want to help young people “live their best lives”.

Craig Davis, group recruitment manager at Salutem Care and Education, said a similar open day event in the West Midlands recently led to 70 applicants attending and 30 potential candidates being interviewed.

He believes the recent coronavirus pandemic has put the importance of high-quality care in the spotlight, and those who are interested in caring and supporting others will find a very rewarding career with Salutem.

“Ours is not an easy job to do but it’s extremely rewarding,” he said.

“You’re looking after vulnerable people and making sure they are living their best life.

“If you’ve got those values of wanting to care for people and you’ve got it within you that you want to make a difference to their lives, then that’s what we are looking for.

Salutem Care and Education provides a home from home to its residents and Craig says the people who work there “become part of their family”.

Salutem is recruiting for jobs at various levels and Craig explains: “We are interested in hearing from people who have worked in children’s or adults care before and those with a health and social care NVQ, however, that’s not essential.

“Some of our staff who did not have that background when they came to us are some of our best care support workers.”

What is essential is that candidates have the values that “the company lives by”, of being supportive and caring.

“That’s the most important thing – not the qualifications,” said Craig.

“As a care company, we care for our residents – but we also care for our staff.

“If you are looking for a rewarding career then we could have the job you are looking for.”

The company also has a variety of adult care roles and anybody who is interested in these is also encouraged to sign up to the open day at www.salutemcareers.co.uk

The location of the open day will be confirmed by the team to those who fill in a form at the above address.
