FARNELL DEALERSHIPS ON HUNT FOR APPRENTICES
Farnell Jaguar Land Rover, part of Vertu Motors plc, is recruiting 27 apprentices across its six retailers.
The sites in Bradford, Leeds, Guiseley, Bolton, Nelson and Chesterfield are looking for talented individuals to train as technicians, service advisors and parts advisors.
Training is delivered through a successful combination of on-the-job and classroom-based training centred on five regionalised state-of-the-art Jaguar Land Rover Training Academies.
New apprentices are also enrolled onto the Jaguar Land Rover Learner Management System to guide them through their short-, medium- and long-term career paths.
Already started on his apprenticeship at Farnell Nelson is 18-year-old Adam Johnston. Adam said: “I have always been interested in vehicle mechanics and Land Rover as a brand, so I seized the opportunity when it came up.
“Farnell Nelson is a great place to work. Everyone is super helpful and have helped me settle in and answered all my questions. My manager is always on hand to support me and finds time for me every day. I’ve definitely made the right decision!”
Matthew Timmons, divisional aftersales director at Vertu Motors plc, said: “This is an amazing prospect for a significant number of young people like Adam in the motor industry.
“The Jaguar Land Rover training academy is second to none and the opportunity to learn from Farnell’s experienced professionals will ensure the best possible start to a career path that offers many opportunities.
“We have already identified four exceptional candidates who have joined the team and very much look forward to filling these coveted roles.”Full details can be found here https://www.jaguarlandroverretailerapprenticeships.co.uk/apply-now

Notes to editors:
Vertu Motors plc (which trades under the Bristol Street Motors, Macklin Motors, Vertu Toyota, Vertu Honda, Vertu Volkswagen, Vertu Mercedes-Benz, Vertu Kia and Farnell Jaguar Land Rover brands) was formed in late 2006 to acquire and consolidate UK motor retail businesses. The group was founded as a new entrant into the UK motor retail sector and is listed on the AIM market (UK:VTU).
In 2017, the Group became the first major UK motor retailer to offer customers the ability to purchase a used vehicle entirely online with the launch of Bristol Street Motors Buy Online. The platform enables customers to buy a used vehicle in as little as five minutes if they have the funds in place, arrange financial packages if they don’t, and have the vehicle delivered to any UK mainland home address.
Since flotation in December 2006, the Group has established itself as a major player in the United Kingdom automotive retail sector. The Group currently operates 144 franchised sales outlets and 4 non-franchised sales operations, representing 32 manufacturers, from 115 locations across the UK.
