Macklin Motors launches recruitment drive after securing Toyota franchise in west of Scotland

Macklin Motors, the trading name for Vertu Motors plc in Scotland, has launched the first phase of a major recruitment drive after being awarded the Toyota franchise in the west of the country.

Macklin Motors has drawn up plans to attract colleagues, as it develops four dealerships to cover the extensive franchise area. The first site is due to open in Glasgow on April 1.

Macklin Motors Toyota Glasgow will be the first dealership to recruit, and it is looking to take on around 30 new colleagues. The team will include technicians, sales advisors, and a certified management accountant.

The new dealership, which houses the world’s best-selling car manufacturer and is a leader in the electrification of the global automotive sector, will offer a full range of new and used Toyota models.

This will include the all new Yaris Cross and Aygo X, the iconic Hilux and the extensive range of Toyota hybrid electric vehicles.

Robert Forrester, Chief Executive of Macklin Motors, said: “This is an exciting period of growth for Macklin Motors as we expand our representation in Scotland.

“As we drive our operations forward, in partnership with the distinguished Toyota brand, the next step is to appoint a dynamic and enthusiastic team of colleagues that have the skills and dedication, across a range of roles, to deliver excellent service to our customers.”

The new Toyota Glasgow dealership based at 860 Kennishead Road, Darnley was formerly a Macklin Motors Motornation dealership. It also will welcome Motability customers.
