VERTU MOTORS TO SUPPORT KEY WORKERS TO STAY ON THE MOVE

Vertu Motors is opening the vast majority of service departments across the Group to ensure that key workers and vehicles critical to the country during the pandemic can continue their vital work.

Anyone classed by the government as a keyworker, or vehicles such as utilities, emergency services and food and necessary goods distributors will be able to access servicing and repairs. Where possible this will be extended to vulnerable people who need to stay mobile.

Robust hygiene and social distancing procedures remain in place to protect customers and colleagues, which include thoroughly cleaning the control surfaces of all vehicles before and after handover.

Robert Forrester, chief executive of Vertu Motors plc, said: “Although our dealerships are temporarily closed for vehicle sales and routine servicing and repairs, like many businesses we are doing what we can to assist key workers, the most vulnerable and crucial logistics. The dealerships are providing servicing and repairs to keep these essential vehicles and workers on the road.”

Notes to editors:

Vertu Motors plc (which trades under the Bristol Street Motors, Macklin Motors, Vertu Toyota, Vertu Honda, Vertu Volkswagen, Vertu Mercedes-Benz, Vertu Kia and Farnell Jaguar Land Rover brands) was formed in late 2006 to acquire and consolidate UK motor retail businesses. The group was founded as a new entrant into the UK motor retail sector and is listed on the AIM market (UK:VTU).

In 2017, the Group became the first major UK motor retailer to offer customers the ability to purchase a used vehicle entirely online with the launch of Bristol Street Motors Buy Online. The platform enables customers to buy a used vehicle in as little as five minutes if they have the funds in place, arrange financial packages if they don’t, and have the vehicle delivered to any UK mainland home address.

Since flotation in December 2006, the Group has established itself as a major player in the United Kingdom automotive retail sector. The Group currently operates 133 franchised sales outlets and 3 non-franchised sales operations, representing 24 manufacturers, from 110 locations across the UK.
