We are looking to enhance our AV team and have an opportunity for an enthusiastic video operative.

This exciting role will involve working with a variety of clients, both within the region and further a-field.

We have not yet determined the final specifications for the job – it could of interest an experienced person or potentially an apprentice. The team is in its infancy so we still have flexibility.

 

The role could involve the following - 

AV skills:

Filming:

•         Able to operate a professional level video camera

o        Understands the importance of and has the ability to correctly compose focus, white balance and other technical parameters.  Understands how to use a standard xlr/minijack microphone with said camera to achieve good sound quality.

o        Understands the importance of proper shot composition (e.g. news interviews with interviewee looking off camera)

o        Has good interview skills and is able to coach interviewees to give video-friendly answers

Editing:

•         Has a fundamental understanding of professional level video editing software.

o        Adobe Premiere Pro CC is preferable

o        Skills are transferable from other pieces of software such as Final Cut Pro, Avid or Sony Vegas Pro. A deeper understanding of the principles of video editing would be beneficial

•         Is able to edit a simple, short news video made up primarily of interview footage overlaid with B Roll.

•         Basic audio editing skills, preferably with a professional level program such as Adobe Audition.

 

 

Applicants must have a clean driving licence. Out of hours work will occasionally be required. It might be necessary to conduct background checks as some clients work with children and vulnerable adults.

 

Salary will be dependent upon experience and the final job description that we decided upon.
