Peterborough Health Club member is Hollywood bound after lucky draw win

18/01/2023

A lucky member at the Bannatyne Health Club in Peterborough has won a once in a lifetime trip to Hollywood.

Penelope Harrall will be jetting off to Tinseltown for an action-packed break that will include a stay in a luxury hotel, a private dance class and a VIP evening helicopter ride over the City of Angels.

Penelope is the winner of an exclusive competition to mark the release of Sony Pictures Whitney Houston biopic film Whitney Houston:I Wanna Dance With Somebody.

There were several ways, during November and December, to be entered into the prize draw to win this fabulous holiday:

  • Participating in Bannatyne health clubs’ new Whitney Houston-inspired aerobics dance classes
  • Joining one of its health clubs
  • An existing member joining a friend

Penelope won through joining the Peterborough health club.

Part of the Bannatyne Group’s collaboration with Sony Pictures’ Whitney Houston: I Wanna Dance with Somebody involved encouraging members to step back in time, don leotards and leg warmers and get moving to the music of the 80s in special dance classes.

Whitney Houston: I Wanna Dance With Somebody is a powerful and triumphant celebration of the incomparable Whitney Houston. Directed by Kasi Lemmons, written by Academy Award® nominee Anthony McCarten, produced by legendary music executive Clive Davis and starring BAFTA Award® winner Naomi Ackie, the film is a no-holds-barred portrait of the complex and multifaceted woman behind The Voice. From New Jersey choir girl to one of the best-selling and most awarded recording artists of all time, audiences are taken on an inspirational, poignant and so emotional journey through Houston’s trailblazing life and career, with show-stopping performances and a soundtrack of the icon’s most beloved hits as you’ve never heard them before.

The trip will follow the musical theme as Penelope and her partner Calum Welbourn will travel to a Hollywood recording studio to belt out some of their favourite songs, followed by a private dance class inspired by Houston’s memorable moves.

Penelope, a 28-year-old Marketing Manager said “When I got the call from club manager Richard, it took him a while to convince me I’d won, I couldn’t believe it!

“I can’t wait to jet off to Hollywood, it really is a once in a lifetime trip! Calum and I are excited for the evening helicopter ride over Los Angeles, we’ll really feel like Hollywood stars!”

Duncan Bannatyne, chief executive and chairman at the Bannatyne Group said “Congratulations to Penelope for winning this brilliant prize trip to Hollywood, she’ll experience the glitz and glamour of Tinseltown made even better by $1000 spending money!”

“The Bannatyne Group was thrilled to help promote the launch of Whitney Houston:I Wanna Dance With Somebody and celebrate a fantastic film about a fantastic singer whose music lives on.”
