In a heartfelt commitment to make a difference, HCMS, along with its managed homes including Larchwood Care, Qualia Care, and Wren Retirement Living, will engage in various fundraising activities throughout the year to support individuals and families affected by dementia.

Dementia touches the lives of many residents within the HCMS-managed homes, making Alzheimer's Society a cause close to their hearts. The initiative will see head office staff and homes across the country coming together to raise funds and awareness for Alzheimer's Society, reflecting HCMS's dedication to corporate social responsibility and community support.

Kicking off the year's fundraising efforts, north east regional manager Sam Armstrong committed to a remarkable challenge. She pledged to walk 150 miles during February during visits to the homes she oversees, seizing every opportunity to contribute to her mileage goal. Her ambitious endeavour raised more than £550, exceeding her target of £300 with money still coming in. Sam also aimed to inspire others to take action in support of Alzheimer's Society.

"Every step I took on this journey is dedicated to the incredible individuals living with dementia in the homes we manage, and their families. It's a cause that resonates deeply with us, and I was determined to make every mile count," said Sam Armstrong.

Later in the year, two head office colleagues will participate in the Great North Run, further demonstrating HCMS's commitment to supporting Alzheimer's Society through a range of fundraising activities.
