PR Consultant - (position filled for summer 2021)

Recognition PR in Darlington wants to appoint a PR Consultant to a team of talented marketing, PR, brand and storyteller specialists, who provide marketing, PR and comms services to private sector firms in multiple sectors.

The position carries a designated client portfolio, that will be introduced over a period of months following successful induction.

Main attributes and responsibilities of the successful candidate:

  • Be able to grasp business issues and their relationship to the news agenda.
  • Client management, developing productive relationships with day-to-day contacts, make a valuable input to client account.
  • Relationship development - to be proactive at maintaining strong relationships with all client contacts, particularly senior people.
  • Client market knowledge - to develop market knowledge and business intelligence to clients on a continual basis.
  • Reporting on results with completed timesheets and contact reports on a structured basis.
  • Provide strategic advice to clients analysing/dealing with problems - developing the ability to predict possible problems on the account and be ready to deal with any crisis and action appropriately.
  • Understanding of the importance of pictures and video with the ability to produce briefs for our in-house AV services (training given)
  • Understanding the mechanics and relevance of social media in order to adapt the content you will produce for multiple platforms to promote client messages.
  • Media relationship management - developing strong relationships with key journalists with the ability and energy to develop new contacts and sustain existing ones.
  • Knowledge of the media - to be ahead of of current events and read daily newspapers, consume broadcast news and to develop a clear understanding of the client’s key publications, their journalists, readership details and lead times.
  • Telephone pitching - have the ability and confidence to "sell in" across a broad range of media.

The role is full time with a salary of £26k to £30k depending on experience, part-time willl be considered for candidates with proven experience and less need for on the job training. Candidates relocating might be eligible for transitional expenses after a successful probation period.

We are located in Tees Valley which is at the heart of the current ‘levelling up’ agenda, having received numerous major investments and policy advantages from HM Government. You will be expected to have made yourself aware of the dynamics of the North East economy, in particular Tees Valley.

PR Assistant May 2021 (POSITION NOW FILLED)

Entry level PR job.

You will receive copious amounts of experience in:

  • Media communications
  • video production 
  • organisation of events 
  • liaison with clients and decision makers 

You will be at the heart of a busy PR firm which connects with firms that are part of the engine of the economy in the North of England.

What we are looking for:

Somebody engaged with the world, enthusiastic and dynamic, self-motivated and committed to hard work. You will be confident with an excellent command of written English and excellent communications skills.

You do not need to possess a degree, but you will be expected to understand the media agenda and consume news coverage on a daily basis.

The role will involve lots of support admin for our PR consultants and getting involved in the campaigns we undertake for our many private sector clients.

The starting salary for a full time position is £20k (part time might be considered for the right candidate).
