FALKIRK HEALTH CLUB MEMBER TAKES ON THREE PEAKS CHALLENGE

11/07/2023

A member of the Bannatyne Health Club in Falkirk is taking on the Three Peaks challenge in aid of Mind and the Scottish Association for Mental Health (SAMH).

Alison Orr will be undertaking the Three Peaks Challenge which entails climbing the three highest peaks in the United Kingdom: Ben Nevis in Scotland, Scafell Pike in England, and Snowdon in Wales. It demands immense physical and mental strength, highlighting Alison's remarkable commitment to raising awareness and funds for mental health support.

Mind and SAMH are prominent charities dedicated to providing mental health support, assistance, and resources to individuals across the nation. Alison's fundraising efforts will contribute towards enabling these organisations to continue their crucial work and make a significant impact in the lives of those affected by mental health challenges.

Alison Orr said “Mental health is a cause close to my heart, and I wanted to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those struggling with mental health issues. By undertaking this incredible journey with Team Imtech, we hope to not only raise funds but also create awareness and encourage open conversations about mental well-being. Together, we can break down the stigma surrounding mental health and offer support to those who need it the most.

“I’ve been using the health club most days to train for the challenge and I’ve really enjoyed using the superb recovery facilities at the club”.

Mandie Spence, Fitness Manager at Bannatyne Health Club and Spa Falkirk said "We are incredibly proud of Alison and her commitment to making a positive impact in the mental health arena. Her determination to support Mind and SAMH aligns perfectly with our core values. We wholeheartedly support her efforts and wish her the very best on her journey."
