Douglas Chapman MP experiences innovative fitness at Bannatyne Health Club in Dunfermline

25/03/2024

Douglas Chapman, MP for Dunfermline and West Fife, recently visited the Bannatyne Health Club and Spa in Dunfermline, to see first-hand the club's commitment to providing cutting-edge fitness facilities to the community.

Accompanied by General Manager Fiona McNorton, Mr. Chapman was given an extensive tour of the premises, highlighting the state-of-the-art equipment and facilities that Bannatyne's members enjoy.

A focal point of the visit was the newly introduced £30,000 CEREMONY studio, equipped with the latest in fitness technology. It offers the LES MILLS CEREMONY programme, a resistance-based workout designed to enhance full-body strength through a combination of explosive exercises, balance and coordination drills, and flow-based movements. This programme, which utilises various equipment stations, is tailored to meet a wide array of fitness goals and preferences, ensuring that every member can find a workout that suits their needs.

During his visit, Mr. Chapman had the opportunity to try out several pieces of equipment within the CEREMONY studio, gaining firsthand experience of the unique fitness opportunities the studio provides.

Fiona McNorton, General Manager at Bannatyne Health Club and Spa Dunfermline, expressed her enthusiasm about the visit, saying: "We were delighted to welcome Mr Chapman to our club and to demonstrate the significant investments we've made in our facilities, particularly the CEREMONY studio. Our aim is to offer the best possible environment for our members to achieve their fitness and wellbeing goals and I hope he was impressed with what he saw.”

Mr Chapman said: “Congratulations to Dunfermline's Bannatyne Health Club for being selected as the first in the UK to host this Les Mills CEREMONY Class, putting Scotland firmly on the global fitness map alongside only two other countries where it has been rolled out so far, New Zealand and Slovenia. It’s a real feather in their cap, and the equipment and lay out of this new class is state of the art fitness in action.

“A big thank you to general manager, Fiona McNorton and personal trainer, Vicki Baillie who showed me round the club and let me try out some of the new CEREMONY class equipment as well as the free weights in the larger gym space. I was very impressed with the focus on well-being in the round at Bannatyne's, in terms of the range of physical fitness options and support but also as a place to meet and make new friends or relax in the sauna area or spa. The staff’s well-being also seems to be an important feature with regular training and career development opportunities, making for a positive and friendly atmosphere at the club.”
