Libby, fights back after covid with a fundraising swim to express her gratitude to her charity supporters.

11/10/2022

One of our members, Libby Bligh is completing an 8km fundraising swim at the Inverness Health Club to raise money for charities that supported her during her recovery.

52-year-old Libby was left with long term physical effects to her health including acquired brain injury after contracting Covid in 2021.

After being put on a ventilator for 6 weeks, Libby woke up paralysed on one side with lung damage which meant she had to relearn how to walk and talk. Last year she could barely walk eight metres.

She now wants to swim eight kilometres over two months to mark the anniversary of surviving Covid. The money she raises from the swim will be split between two charities that helped aid her during her recovery process.

The Oxygen Works, an oxygen therapy centre in Inverness and Headway Highland, which focuses on improving life after brain injury are the charities that Libby will be fundraising for.

There is still time to donate to Libby’s just giving page: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/liberty-bligh?utm_source=Sharethis&utm_medium=fundraising&utm_content=liberty-bligh&utm_campaign=pfp-email&utm_term=cf3c0f0a62f643b39cece76973db04f2
