LOWESTOFT SCHOOL TEACHER RECEIVES TOP NATIONAL AWARD
A Lowestoft teacher has received the Nike Active School Hero Award for England at the UK Active Awards.
Johnny Lee, who teaches primary school children, received the national award which rewards individuals who go above and beyond for their school. The UK Active Chair, Baroness Tanni Grey Thompson was on hand to congratulate the teacher for his fundamental role in the school’s sporting success.
The Bannatyne Health Club Lowestoft member often talks to his pupils about the importance of daily exercise and the positive effects it can have on your physical and mental health.
Johnny, who practices what he preaches, has been a member of the Bannatyne Health Club Lowestoft for several years, often using the facilities for 60 minutes every day of the week.
The modern facilities at Bannatyne provide members with a wide range of equipment along with spacious areas for people to work out.
Johnny Lee, winner of the award, said: “Going to the health club regularly gives me so much physical and mental energy which I can apply in my daily working life and I would advise everyone to get a health club membership if they haven’t already got one.”
Christian Malcolm, general manager at the Bannatyne Health Club & Spa Lowestoft, said: “Johnny is an inspiration to his pupils, encouraging physical activity and the benefits this brings.
“We are very proud of him for receiving this award.”
