Cairn Hotel Group, one of the UK's leading hotel and bar operators, is working with Green Tourism to elevate its sustainability efforts across the board.

This partnership embodies Cairn Hotel Group's recently announced commitment to numerous sustainability pledges, including energy reduction, sustainable product adoption, improved waste management, and innovative travel initiatives. It is also passionately investing in community engagement and backing local businesses.

Green Tourism has been at the forefront of sustainability assessment since 1997, arming hospitality and tourism businesses with the tools and guidance to boost their sustainability activities. With its foundation in the UN sustainability goals, Green Tourism offers an unrivalled industry framework that is recognised and embraced by businesses across the world. In 2021, Green Tourism introduced the Green Meetings Standard, specifically aimed at venues from universities to conference centres, allowing them to validate and enhance their sustainability credentials.

The awards certification programme recognises the commitment of tourism businesses which are actively working to become more sustainable. They are acknowledged worldwide as an indicator of good environmentally-friendly practice and are a great way of progressing on a green journey as well as acting as a hallmark of ‘green quality’, attracting custom from increasing numbers of eco-minded visitors.
