Linked In update: Welsh infrastructure
The Welsh Government has published its long awaited Infrastructure Bill designed to streamline the consenting process for significant infrastructure in Wales and delivering on net zero targets.
Julie James, Minister for Climate Change, will be making a verbal statement at the Senedd today, but one of they takeaways from the written statement for us is that it is designed to provide “a ‘one-stop-shop’, whereby certain permissions, consents, licences and other requirements currently issued under different consenting regimes, can be obtained as one package.”
This is all good news and will hopefully make the process a lot quicker, however, with so many organisations looking to achieve net zero by 2030- is this too little too late?
