Fulcrum Group secures CITB funding to develop and deliver a bespoke in-house leadership and management skills programme

04/10/2023

Fulcrum Group, the leading independent net-zero focused multi-utility infrastructure and services provider, is launching a bespoke leadership skills development programme supported by funding from the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB).

Having secured £50,000 from CITB’s Leadership & Management Development Fund, the Sheffield-based Group will run a 12-month training programme encompassing senior leaders, managers and supervisors across its Fulcrum, Dunamis and Maintech companies.

The training will support the Group’s business growth strategies as it strengthens its positions in key markets, while providing a clear path of professional development opportunities for its directly-employed workforce.

Fulcrum Group is an industry leader in the delivery of multi-utility infrastructure for residential and industrial & commercial developments, together with the design, installation and maintenance of high-voltage electrical infrastructure for projects such as solar farms and battery storage.

The funding was secured in partnership with Coventry-based The OM Group, which provides consultancy and training services to companies in the construction sector.

The OM Group has helped Fulcrum Group to custom build the training programmes, which it will deliver in primarily face-to-face sessions at the Group’s premises in South Yorkshire and Suffolk.

Katie Yates, Head of Compliance at Fulcrum Group, said: “We are really pleased to have secured this funding from CITB to support our leadership programmes. It is part of our continuous investment in our people to develop their abilities, which ensures the successful delivery of current and future projects, enhances our close relationships with our customers and supports our strategy to increase our market position nationally.”

Damini Sharma, CEO at The OM Group, said: “Working closely with Fulcrum Group we help its people develop valuable leadership skills, which will contribute to the Group’s growth strategy and maintain its ability to deliver high quality construction-related projects and the highest levels of service.

“As the construction industry evolves, we have developed a suite of programmes that can be tailored to meet the bespoke requirements of companies in the sector, and which are recognised by CITB. We are looking forward to delivering this project for Fulcrum Group.”

Tim Balcon, CITB Chief Executive, said: “I’m delighted to award Fulcrum Group’s programme with funding, enabling them to provide opportunities to employees to upskill and increase their knowledge across a wide range of areas. This programme, delivered by The OM Group, supports our mission of helping the industry to have a skilled, competent workforce, now and in the future.

“Our sector continues to attract and develop talented people, and in partnership with employers like Fulcrum Group and training providers including The OM Group, we can continue to create vital professional development opportunities, which will add value to our sector and the wider economy.”
