RESIDENTS OF SIMONSFIELD CARE HOME CRAFT 'FORGET-ME-NOT FLOWERS' TO COMMEMORATE WORLD ALZHEIMER’S MONTH

10/10/2023

Residents of Simonsfield Care Home in Anfield spent a morning making ‘forget- me-not flowers’ for World Alzheimer’s month.

The myths and legends surrounding the blue forget-me-not flowers may vary, but one thing is universally accepted - they are a symbol of remembrance and are often associated with Alzheimer's disease. As September marks World Alzheimer's Month, Simonsfield Care Home paid tribute to those affected by Alzheimer's by engaging residents in a meaningful craft activity.

Karen Evans, the home’s manager, has said: “Our residents have shown immense creativity and resilience in crafting these beautiful forget-me-not flowers.

“These creations symbolise the importance of cherishing memories and ensuring that no one affected by Alzheimer's is forgotten."

Simonsfield Care Home is managed by Healthcare Management Solutions and is rated as Good by the industry regulator, the Care Quality Commission, which assesses elements including safety, effectiveness, standards of care, responsiveness, and how well-led it is.
