BARRATT HOMES CONTRIBUTES £26,500 TOWARD ANNIVERSARY FUNDRAISER

03/01/2023

Barratt Homes has partnered up with North East-based property and construction firm, Hellens Group by contributing £26,500 toward a £50,000 target for the Percy Hedley Foundation.

The fundraising for the Percy Hedley Foundation coincides with the 50th anniversary of Hellens Group, which has provided manufacturing, property and construction services since 1973.

Since setting the ambitious £50,000 target in early 2022, Hellens Group has raised money through a series of events, including a ladies’ lunch, golf day, and a garden party.

Hellens Group, which has offices in Washington, Stockton, and Catterick, was generously offered £26,500 from Barratt Homes, helping to exceed the initial £50,000 target.

The Percy Hedley Foundation, which was established in 1953, supports people with cerebral palsy, communication impairments, sensory impairments, complex learning, social care and therapeutic needs. The money raised will provide support for over 650 people, helping each of them to reach their full potential.

Kate Hellens, director at Hellens Group said: “We are very grateful to Barratt Homes and their generous donation towards the Percy Hedley Foundation.

“We hope that this donation will lead to more opportunities to work with the Foundation in the future and provide the necessary support for all students.”

Carl Sobolewski, managing director of Barratt Developments North East commented: “We’re really pleased to support the Percy Hedley Foundation. It’s a phenomenal charity for people with additional needs, but also their families and its incredible impact is felt by a lot of people in the North East.

“Supporting the communities in which we build is something we consistently hold ourselves accountable for and we’re keen for our donation to Percy Hedley Foundation to be the beginning of an ongoing partnership with the charity. We look forward to being able to support them again in any way we can.”

Louise Horsefield, head of fundraising and engagement at the Percy Hedley Foundation said:Hedley “On behalf of The Percy Hedley Foundation, I’d like to say a huge thank you to Barratt Homes for this generous donation in support of the amazing anniversary campaign by Hellens Group.

“The money raised will make a huge difference to the children and young people we support, and we look forward to an exciting future in working together.”
