CONSULTATION OPENS FOR FEEDBACK ON PROPOSED QUEENS MEADOW DEVELOPMENT IN HARTLEPOOL

19/06/2023

Hellens Group, a leading North East property development company, has announced the launch of a public consultation for the Queens Meadow development project in Hartlepool. The consultation aims to gather feedback and suggestions from the local community about the proposed plans for the site.

Queens Meadow, which is allocated for development in Hartlepool Borough Council's adopted Local Plan (2018), is an integral part of the newly formed Hartlepool Mayoral Development Corporation. With early phases of development already completed to the north and west of the site, Queens Meadow is currently home to established businesses and occupiers, including Pro-Pipe and Cleveland Fire Brigade Headquarters.

Working in collaboration with Hartlepool Borough Council and the Tees Valley Combined Authority, Hellens Group is dedicated to delivering new commercial space that will create 100s of jobs and deliver economic growth in Hartlepool.

The proposed development encompasses three areas. The smaller parcel of land to the north of the site is expected to accommodate approximately 4,100 sqm (44,000 sqft) of employment space, designated for general business and office use.

The larger area to the south is identified for the delivery of approximately 42,000 sqm(452,000 sqft) of employment space catering for general industry and/or storage and distribution.

The proposal also includes residential development that will not only support the growth of the business park but also make a significant contribution to addressing the housing needs in the borough. Approximately 200 dwellings, comprising a mix of 2, 3, and 4-bedroom homes, could be accommodated on the site.

Gavin Cordwell-Smith, chief executive of Hellens Group, expressed his enthusiasm for the project, stating, "We are delighted to launch the public consultation for the Queens Meadow development.

“This project represents an exciting opportunity to create new jobs, stimulate economic growth, and meet the housing needs of the community in Hartlepool. We value the input and feedback of the public, and we look forward to incorporating their ideas into the formal proposal while addressing any concerns or suggestions raised."

To participate in the public consultation and provide suggestions or feedback, members of the public are encouraged to visit the project's website: www.queensmeadow.com and complete the feedback form. The consultation period will run until Sunday, July 2, 2023.
