Ovenu concludes Australian Master Franchise Agreement

02/08/2022

Ovenu Franchising UK Ltd has announced the renewal of its Master Franchise Agreement in Australia.

Current master franchisees, Bernard and Janet Bannon, have agreed a new 15 year deal, with an option to extend a further 15 years.

The couple, who joined Ovenu in 2005, have since built a formidable franchise network, made up of more than 30 franchisees, to become the nation’s leading oven valeting and detailing business.

Demand for its oven cleaning service continues to grow, and Ovenu has succeeded in multiplying its franchise territories across various states and as a result is now firmly established in most of Australia’s main cities, including Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth, and Sydney, together with the Sunshine Coast, Gold Coast and Albury-Wodonga.

Ex-pats Bernard and Janet became convinced of its business potential after calling in a local Ovenu franchisee to clean the oven of the restaurant they were running at the time in the Channel Islands – later exporting the concept when they emigrated.

The deal concludes an eight month period of structured negotiations between the parties. Initial and final drafts were prepared by Australian lawyers recommended by Ovenu Franchising’s lawyers in the UK, with the finer points worked through between the parties, with the support of the Bannon’s franchise lawyers and their consultants.

The Master Franchise Agreement is accompanied by an updated Disclosure Document and a raft of associated documents which make up the mandatory paperwork required by the Australian authorities.

Rik Hellewell, founder and current managing director of Ovenu Franchising Limited in the UK, said: “I’m delighted that Bernard and Janet have opted to continue their journey with us into the foreseeable future. They have been extremely successful in establishing and building the Ovenu network in Australia and I’m convinced they will continue to grow the brand.

“Current legislation in Australia meant everything took a little longer than anticipated but it was very important to ensure every aspect of the renewal was completed correctly.”

Bernard Bannon said: “We have plans to bring other experienced family members into managerial roles to help us take the business to the next level.

“We are delighted to have concluded the Master Franchise Agreement with Rik and look forward to enjoying even greater success over the next 15 years.”

The revised Master Franchise Agreement terms include a revision of the Australian Franchise Agreements with the franchisee network together with additional amendments to the operations manual.
