Ryan announces expansion plans as he marks 10th anniversary of Ovenu Maidenhead

27/09/2022

Ryan Penniston is celebrating the 10th anniversary of oven valeting service Ovenu Maidenhead by announcing plans to expand the business.

The 32-year-old said that he is preparing to take on a technician who can operate an additional van to help meet demand from a growing client list.

Ryan spent five years in the pub trade before, in 2012, fulfilling an ambition to become his own boss, encouraged by the success of his dad Adam, who runs the neighbouring franchise, Ovenu Wokingham.

The father-of-three said: “I spent five years in the bar trade and was assistant manager at a couple of pubs in Wokingham, but I wanted to be my own boss and take control of my career.

“I saw how my dad had created a successful business with Ovenu and that was all the recommendation I needed – and I’ve never looked back.

“It was hard work to build up a strong customer base, but those loyal clients kept me going through the pandemic and since then I’ve experienced many new enquires, to the point that I’m preparing to recruit an additional technician over the next few months.

“I’ve enjoyed every minute of the last 10 years, running a business that gives me tremendous job satisfaction. At the same time, I have the ongoing support of the Ovenu franchise which I can call on should I ever need it.”

Rik Hellewell, founder and managing director of Ovenu said: “Congratulations to Ryan on an outstanding 10 years.

“He has the aptitude to take his business to the next level and it’s great to see his follow in his father’s footsteps, meaning that oven cleaning must be in the DNA!”

The Ovenu valeting process involves dismantling key components of an oven such as the door, interior panels, fan, and shelves and placing them into design-registered tank equipment, which uses safe, non-caustic products to clean the oven parts’ leaving it in near showroom condition.

As well as the town, Ovenu Maidenhead also covers Marlow, Taplow, Bray, Hurley Bottom, Holyport, Medmenham, Bourne End, and surrounding areas.
