The Hall care home in Thornton-Le-Dale has recently become one of the first services in the country to achieve the new British Standard for Adult Residential Care – BS8606:2019.

The home, which has the capacity to support 54 residents, was inspected by Care Inspections UK (CIUK), the UK’s only registered and accredited care home inspection body and was awarded a certificate of compliance.

The British Standard – BS8606:2019 - specifies requirements for the provision of care for adults requiring support, personal, nursing, and/or specialist care within a residential setting.

The Hall is a restored historic building in the centre of the Thornton-Le-Dale community and offers both residential and respite care to older people, particularly those living with dementia. It has close links with local charity, Dementia Forward.

The Hall is also rated good in all five areas of inspection by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

Chris Lane, a director at Park Lane Healthcare, said: “We’re delighted that The Hall has done so well in two objective, independent assessments from nationally recognised industry bodies.
