Staff from Popular Care care homes spanning the North East have been shortlisted in the prestigious Great British Care Awards with a total of eleven finalists.

Peterlee care home, located in Peterlee, is proud to have one finalist together with Wilton House in Darlington with four, while Astune Rise in Eston, near Middlesbrough, leads the group with an impressive six finalists.

The Great British Care Awards are a national celebration of excellence across the care sector, shining a light on the heroes who go above and beyond in their respective roles. These awards serve as a platform to pay tribute to those outstanding individuals who have showcased excellence within their field of work.

With 21 award categories available for nomination, the Great British Care Awards represent the full spectrum of the social care sector. This encompasses care for older people, specialist services, both residential and home care. Nominees range from frontline staff such as dedicated care workers and managers to those who have made significant impacts in other areas like training and innovation.
