MAYOR OF MIDDLESBROUGH HANDS OUT THE HONOURS AT NURSERY GRADUATION CEREMONY

03/08/2023

Rosedene, a leading early years provider in Tees Valley, welcomed the Mayor of Middlesbrough as a special guest at its Hemlington nursery graduation ceremony.

The graduation ceremony celebrated the accomplishments and growth of the nursery's graduating class, many of whom have attended the setting since they were babies.

Mayor Chris Cooke joined proud parents and the Rosedene staff in recognising the three and four-year-olds as they prepare to go to primary school in September.

During his visit, Mayor Cooke engaged with the children and the staff, and presented certificates to the youngsters in front of their delighted parents, acknowledging their hard work and achievements.

Holly, Manager at Rosedene Hemlington, said, "We had a lovely day at the graduation, and it was fantastic opportunity to celebrate with our oldest children and their parents.

“Having Mayor Cooke join us for our graduation ceremony was an incredible honour. He has only been in the role a few months but has already shown a great deal of support for the work we do at the Rosedene settings in Middlesbrough.

“Early years is the foundation of a good education, and it’s important to celebrate the end of this important stage in their lives, ready to start their new adventure at school in September.”

Mayor Cooke said: “It was a real pleasure to meet the absolutely delightful children at Rosedene, their parents and all the staff who put so much passion and energy into giving the nursery’s youngsters the best possible start in life and education.

“This stage of life is incredibly formative and I have no doubt these early successes the children are enjoying will continue as they go on with their education because of the foundations put in place by their parents and the nursery team.”

Rosedene Nurseries have held 10 graduation ceremonies, for 181 children across the North East inviting parents to be part of this special celebration.

Rosedene Hemlington is situated within Middlesbrough Children's Centre on Cass House Road and is rated ‘good’ by Ofsted.
