NURSERY CHILDREN EXPRESS THEIR HUNGER FOR LITERATURE WITH ROALD DAHL DAY KITCHEN TAKEOVER
A Middlesbrough based nursery celebrated national Roald Dahl Day with a kids’ kitchen takeover based on the author’s work.
Rosedene’s Easterside setting celebrated the writer’s birthday in style with children at the nursery reading some of the world’s bestselling children’s novels and cooking dishes inspired by Dahl’s work.
The children sampled Bruce Bogtrotter’s chocolate cake from Matilda while hearing about the magical youngster’s adventures.
Gemma Brown, manager at Easterside said: “The children thoroughly enjoyed being in the kitchen and making a delicious chocolatey cake.
“At Rosedene, we practise curious learning which sees children learn a range of life skills through a range of activities, including exploratory play and trying different experiences.
“Our hands-on approach has seen the children develop an interest in Roald Dahl and his amazing storytelling novels.”
Rosedene Nurseries has achieved an ‘Outstanding’ rating from the regulator Ofsted for many of its childcare services.
