NURSERY’S CELEBRATION OF AFTERNOON TEA WEEK AND LION DAY IS A ROARING SUCCESS

15/08/2022

A Teesside nursery came up with the ideal way of celebrating a combination of Afternoon Tea Week and Lion Day – by inviting the Boro’s popular mascot Roary for a cuppa.

The children had a fun time with Roary during his visit when cakes, biscuits and refreshments were served in a traditional afternoon tea style with china cups and saucers and cake stands.

Lisa Murphy, manager of Rosedene Hemlington, said: “When we were looking at how we could celebrate Afternoon Tea Week and Lion Day, we thought what better way to celebrate than to invite Roary here to have some afternoon tea.”

Rosedene Hemlington day nursery has built a strong reputation for interacting with organisation in the wider community. This includes forging a relationship with Middlesbrough Football Club Foundation.

Lisa added: “MFC works with local people to educate, inspire and improve life chances. This is so important to Rosedene too as we also strive to do this for all the children and families we care for.

“Rosedene has supported the Foundation by fundraising at all ten of our nurseries and hosting fund days and local events.

“Partnerships like the one we have with MFC are important to Rosedene as they enable us to reach and support as many families as we possibly can.

“Strong community partnerships are at the heart of Rosedene and gives our young minds the chance to help be the change we would like to see in the world.”

The day nursery, based at Hemlington Children's Centre in Cass House Road
is an Ofsted Good Centre of Excellence.

It has been operating for more than 14 years and provides high standards of full day-care for babies and children up to 11-years-old.
