ROSEDENE NURSERY SHOWS COMMUNITY SPIRIT AT PRESTON PARK LITTER PICK
12/08/21
Children from Rosedene’s Egglescliffe nursery have demonstrated community spirit by joining a litter pick to help keep nearby Preston Park tidy.
The youngsters, aged two to eight years old, spent the morning collecting rubbish from the Stockton beauty spot.
While there, they learned about the importance of correct litter disposal and the importance of keeping wildlife habitats free of items that may be dangerous to animals.
After an hour and a half of hard work, the children had a picnic before returning to the nursery on Butts Lane.
Laura Weir, manager at Rosedene Egglescliffe, said: “At Rosedene, we believe that it’s never too early to start learning good habits, particularly keeping our local environment neat and tidy.
“The children got used to what they were looking for quickly and understood why they were there. Many of them play there regularly, so it’s important for them to learn that it’s their responsibility to keep it looking good.
“We rounded off the morning with a lovely picnic and made sure to throw all our rubbish in the bin when we left.”
Egglescliffe Rosedene is an OFSTED Outstanding rated setting.
