‘ROYAL-READY’ NORTH EAST NURSERIES SEND MESSAGE TO PRINCESS OF WALES

09/03/2023

Rosedene Nurseries have held a host of royal-themed events to coincide with the launch of the Princess of Wales’ new campaign, Shaping Us, which shines a spotlight on the importance of early childhood.

As part of the celebration, Rosedene Nurseries’ director, Alice McCullagh, has invited the Princess of Wales to visit one of its ten settings across Teesside and North Yorkshire.

Launched in January 2023, the Princess of Wales’ campaign aims to ensure children have the best start in life to help future generations thrive.

Embracing the campaign, Rosedene Nurseries has forever championed the importance of engagement from a young age.

The North East-based organisation has ten nurseries across the region, all rated ‘good’ or ‘outstanding’ by Ofsted, including one in Hemlington, which recently led on the royal-themed activities. Children at the nursery spent an afternoon hosting an afternoon tea party, making paper crowns and learning about the royal family. They now hope their activities may inspire the princess to pay them a visit as part of her wider campaign.

Since the first Rosedene nursery opened in 1991, the organisation has recognised the importance of children’s early development. It’s ‘curiosity-based learning’ allows youngsters to take a lead in what interests them, allowing them to have fun while learning. It’s beach and forest school activities give children a wide appreciation for their environments. While well-being activities are made available to the families of children too, as part of a holistic approach to well-being and community.

Alice McCullagh, director of Rosedene Nurseries, said: “We’re delighted that the Princess of Wales has kicked off a campaign to raise awareness of the importance of a child’s first five years of life.

“As part of our ethos we provide a range of enriching learning experiences that help our children develop relationships and give them the best possible start in their early years.

“Our support for the campaign comes at a time when talks for more government backing into the childcare system have never been greater.

“We’d like to invite the Princess of Wales to visit our Rosedene family in the North of England and to share our early years’ experience as we begin our support for the Shaping us campaign.”
