BASINGSTOKE CARE CENTRE GOES FOR GOLD WITH SUNNY SPORTS DAY

19/10/2021

Roman House, a residential care home for disabled adults with complex care needs in Basingstoke, enjoyed the tail end of summer with a barbecue and sports day.

Individuals supported by the service took part in fun activities, including toy fishing, egg and spoon race, and tin can alley.

The winners were given a certificate and a medal, and there were plenty of prizes for everyone who took part.

The day rounded off with a delicious barbecue in the sun.

Kerry Lettin, service manager at Roman House, said: “At Roman House, we love an opportunity for everyone to get together, do something active and have fun.

“We had a fantastic time at the sports day. The weather was lovely, and everyone had a sport they were good at doing. We gave out lots of prizes, medals and certificates, and the barbecue was great too.

“We’re looking forward to more fun and games in the next few months, but maybe inside because it’s getting a bit colder!”

Stephanie, one of the people supported by Roman House, said: “I had a great time at the sports day, especially the fishing game but I won a medal for being the best catcher. I can’t wait to do it again.”

Roman House is part of Ambito Care and Education, which is part of Salutem Care and Education.
