Brighton support manager honoured with Prestigious PaCC Award for exceptional service in social care

The manager of a Brighton adult day care centre has been given special recognition for her work with people with additional needs.

Christine Howland, manager at the Sharon Collins Resource Centre and The Hub in Brighton, has received a Parent Carers' Council (PaCC) Award in the Social Care Sector.

The PaCC is a vital advocate for families in Brighton and Hove with children who have additional needs and/or disabilities.

The Hub and Sharon Collins Resource Centre, which are part of Salutem Care and Education, are recognised for their outstanding day opportunities and support for adults with disabilities including a variety of physical disabilities, learning disabilities, autistic people with a learning disability and complex health needs. Christine's leadership and commitment to providing high-quality, tailored support have made a significant difference in the lives of many individuals and their families within the community.

John Godden, chief executive of Salutem Care and Education, praised Christine's achievement, saying: "Christine embodies the spirit of dedication and compassion that is at the heart of our mission. Her unwavering commitment to enhancing the lives of those we support has rightfully earned her this PaCC Award. We are immensely proud of her and the exemplary service the Sharon Collins Resource Centre offers under her guidance."

The PaCC Awards aim to highlight and celebrate the incredible work done by individuals and organisations in supporting SEND families across Brighton and Hove. Christine’s recognition is a testament to her impactful contributions and the positive change she has fostered within the social care sector.

The award ceremony is scheduled to take place on Thursday, 7th March, from 10:00am to 1:30pm at the Auditorium, Brighthelm Centre, Brighton. It promises to be a momentous occasion, acknowledging the hard work and achievements of those dedicated to supporting the SEND community.

The Parent Carers' Council plays a crucial role in advocating for and supporting families with additional needs, ensuring their voices are heard and valued. The PaCC Awards are a key part of this endeavour, shining a spotlight on the outstanding contributions made by individuals like Christine and organisations across the region.
