CELEBRATIONS FOR OUTSTANDING CQC RATING FOR HEREFORD COMMUNITY CARE PROVIDER

17/11/2022

First Key, a domiciliary home care provider in Hereford held a celebratory dinner in honour of its ‘outstanding’ rating following an inspection by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

The Salutem-operated service, which predominantly provides specialist care for disabled adults in their own homes, received full marks earlier in the year for its services in responsiveness, safety, and management following its inspection by the CQC.

Salutem Care and Education CEO John Godden treated staff and people supported by the service to a party, followed by a dinner for the team in the evening.

The independent investigators, through their in-depth report, said: “A health professional explained staff were exceptional and proactive in caring for people and told us how carefully and well the registered manager planned the support people required, when they wanted to receive care from health services.”

One member of staff was quoted in the inspection report as saying: “I love it [the job]. It's nice to go home hopefully having made a difference to someone's life for the best. We [First Key Hereford staff] support people the way we would like our self or our family to be supported.”

Lottie Hudson, service manager at First Key Hereford said: “We are over the moon with the outcome of the CQC inspection – it is testament to the commitment of the whole team, who are absolutely committed to ensuring that the people we support have every opportunity to live their best lives.”

John Godden, MBE, CEO of Salutem said: “Well done to Lottie and the team at First Key, the hard work and dedication that the staff have to their roles is inspiring. The enthusiastic approach to helping make a difference doesn’t go unrecognised, and I’m glad we had the opportunity to celebrate with them.”

The independent regulator, CQC, inspects care homes across the country under Section 60 of the Health and Social Care Act 2008.

Salutem Care and Education provide a range of care and support in schools, day centres and residential homes for children and adults across the UK.
