Greenways care home in Pinner has been rated as ‘Good’ by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) following a recent inspection.

The home, based on Uxbridge Road, supports people with mental health care needs and learning disabilities.

The care was praised, with the report stating that ‘People's choices were at the forefront of decision making. Staff supported people to maintain their independence, where possible. Staff communicated with people in ways that met their needs. Staff focused on people's strengths and promoted what they could do, so people had a fulfilling and meaningful everyday life.’

The inspector also noted that ‘People led inclusive and empowered lives because of the ethos, values, attitudes and behaviours of the management and staff. The provider had developed the service to support and improve the lives of people at the service. The values of the service underpinned the support people received. People were empowered to lead fulfilling lives and make choices about how to spend their lives.”

A number of positive comments from relatives were also included in the report; ‘"I am glad that my [relative] is in a place that can now keep her safe and she doesn't have the risks she faced before where she lived’.

Another added "The staff are very good at accommodating [relative] and support [relative] with a good balance of maintaining their independence and supporting them when needed."
