Mountview care home in Stocksfield has been rated as ‘Good’ by the Care Quality Commission following a recent inspection.

The care home, part of Salutem Care and Education, provides residential care for adults with learning disabilities, autism, physical disabilities and complex care needs supporting them to meet their personal goals and future aspirations.

The inspector found that ‘The model of care and setting maximised people’s choice, control and independence. People were supported to have maximum choice and control of their lives and staff supported them in the least restrictive way possible and in their best interests; the policies and systems in place in the service supported this practice.’

It was also noted that ‘People’s safety was well managed, and the daily risks people faced were assessed and reviewed regularly.’

Relatives also gave positive feedback on the care and support with comments including ‘We have extensive conversations and are always responded to’, ‘I’m very happy with [person’s] care, great little home, no complaints’, ‘They take [person] out in their wheelchair in the van to various places like before they were in the wheelchair, they try to get [person] out as much as possible’ and ‘They seem to be aware of [person] as a person, their likes and dislikes.’

Ann Holt, Division Director – Adults at Salutem Care and Education said: “It’s fantastic that Mountview continues to be rated as ‘Good’ in all areas inspected.

“It is testament to the hard work and commitment of all the team, and the comments from families are particularly pleasing. Providing the individuals we support with the ability to live independent and fulfilling lives is our priority and this inspection report demonstrates that this is happening at Mountview.”
