Salutem Care & Education partners with Auditel to achieve carbon neutrality and pursue net zero goals

25/07/2023

Salutem Care & Education, a leading provider of support and care services, is on the road to NetZero thanks to a partnership with Auditel, a carbon solutions company.

Salutem Care & Education recognises the urgent need to address climate change and is committed to reducing its carbon footprint. By deploying intelligent energy monitoring systems throughout its facilities, the organisation aims to gain a comprehensive understanding of its energy consumption patterns. This data-driven approach will empower Salutem to implement targeted measures for energy reduction, fostering a culture of sustainability across its staff and the individuals it supports.

"We are proud to partner with Auditel as we embark on our mission to reduce our environmental impact," said John Godden MBE, CEO of Salutem Care & Education "With more than 150 services across England and Wales, we are industry professionals in providing support and care. Salutem is taking practical steps to reduce its carbon footprint and the impact of the business on the environment."

The collaboration with Auditel will focus on various carbon reduction projects, including:

  • Utopi Smart Monitoring Equipment: Salutem will install cutting-edge Utopi smart monitoring devices across all its services to identify and manage excessive energy usage efficiently.
  • Renewable Energy Solutions: Through comprehensive site assessments, Salutem will identify locations suitable for solar panel installations and ground source heat pumps, maximising the use of sustainable energy sources.
  • Energy-Efficient Lighting: Salutem plans to replace existing lighting systems in schools and colleges with energy-efficient LEDs, contributing to substantial energy savings.
  • Electrification of Fleet: As part of its ongoing fleet renewal process, Salutem will progressively transition its vehicles to electric power, reducing carbon emissions associated with transportation.

To ensure accountability and measure progress, Salutem Care & Education will commission a comprehensive carbon footprint report spanning a three-year period. This report will provide valuable insights into its carbon reduction journey, enabling informed decision-making for future sustainability initiatives.

John Godden added: “Salutem Care & Education remains steadfast in its commitment to mitigating climate change and we look forward to achieving our carbon neutral milestone in collaboration with Auditel. By actively engaging staff and the individuals we support, we can deliver exceptional care services while adopting responsible and sustainable practices.”
