CARE HOME STAFF FROM ACROSS NORTH EAST SURPRISED WITH AWARD RECOGNITION

06/07/2023

Colleagues from two sister North East care home operators were surprised at a recent staff conference with the news that they were being nominated for national awards.

Thirty four people from Popular Care and Solehawk care homes in Newcastle, Gateshead, Peterlee, Darlington and Middlesbrough will go forward for a variety of categories at the Great British Care Awards 2023.

The purpose of the Great British Care Awards is to pay tribute to those individuals who have demonstrated outstanding excellence within their field of work. It includes individuals who represent all areas of the social care sector, including older people or specialist services, residential or home care. They are open to frontline staff such as care workers and care managers through to people who have made an impact in other ways such as training and innovation.

Steve Massey, operations manager said: “We value all colleagues who do a tremendous job, whether caring for residents or in support roles.

“Deciding who should be nominated for these prestigious awards was incredibly difficult; so many people deserve recognition for the job they do. The selection process was very rigorous and hotly debated, but in the end we have a group of individuals who will be fantastic representatives of their homes and I wish them the very best of luck.”
