Tier One Capital, a leading wealth management and fund management business based in the North East, is sponsoring Sport Newcastle's Golf Day in its ongoing ambition to support the dreams of sporting talent and grassroots sport in the region.

The fundraising event will take place on Thursday, 13th July 2023 at Ponteland Golf Club and will help to raise vital funds to support local athletes, sports organisations and promote grassroots sports participation in the region.

The annual golf day will be attended by a wide range of local like-minded businesses and will again be supported by SOS Group, which is also a long-time supporter of Sport Newcastle fundraising events.

Ahead of the event, Tier One Capital’s chief executive, Ian McElroy, met with talented local golfer Jess Baker, who was the 2022 British Amateur Champion, to find out how Sport Newcastle has supported her golfing endeavours.

Tier One Capital's sponsorship of the golf day is part of an ongoing partnership with Sport Newcastle, underlining the company’s commitment to contributing to the local community and encouraging involvement in sport at all levels.

Jess Baker said: “I’ve had a fantastic year, playing against some of the greatest players at the biggest events of the golfing year.

“The support from Sport Newcastle has been fantastic, I am so grateful to have received their support in way of funding my lessons and giving me the opportunity to travel all over the world – without the help I don’t know where I’d be.”
