National awards for Teesside motor retail colleagues

Two Teesside colleagues have been honoured with prestigious Vertu Motors plc 2023 CEO Management Awards.

Scott Chapel, who works at Vertu BMW Teesside and John Jones, from Vertu Accident Repair Centre Teesside have been name Parts Manager of the Year and Accident Repair Centre Manager of the Year.

The awards acknowledge colleagues who have performed exceptionally well and delivered the highest levels of leadership throughout the year.

Nominations are made by Operational Directors to the plc Board, which selects the winner of each category.

Like all the winners, Scott and John received a phone call from the Chief Executive, Robert Forrester, to congratulate them on their achievement, to thank them for their commitment to delivering results for the business, and for the work they have undertaken throughout the year.

Robert Forrester, Chief Executive of Vertu Motors plc, said: “Scott and John are excellent colleagues who thoroughly deserve this recognition for their commitment and hard work. Well done to both of them.”

Scott said: “I am proud to have received this award. There have been challenges since Vertu Motors acquired the business, not least a global pandemic, but with the help and support of colleagues we are now a successful business.”

John said: “This is a fantastic accolade, and I am honoured that I was chosen to receive it.”

Scott’s nomination stated that ‘Scott is a very experienced parts manager who works as a key piece of the management team in our business at Teesside. Scott has proven to be loyal, committed and resilient.’

John’s nomination noted that ‘John has shown tremendous leadership throughout the year not only with his team at Teesside but also to the wider VARC team. John has shown true grit and determination.’
